Travelling within Österlen

All public transport by train and bus in Österlen and Skåne is operated by Skånetrafiken. Travelling is easy, fast, and comfortable. Trains and buses connect Tomelilla to at least 40 cities, towns, and villages around Skåne. In the countryside, the yellow region buses take you to small and bigger towns.

However, to explore the countryside in its entirety, travelling by car or bike is in many cases the best option. Rent a car at Bil-Bengtsson in Ystad. If you're in need of a taxi, you can order one at Taxi Kurir Ystad, Taxi Österlen or Taxi Ystad.

Travelling to Österlen

 

The closest airports are Malmö Airport (serviced by Malmö Aviation and SAS) and Copenhagen Airport in Kastrup.

The Öresund Bridge makes for easy and fast travelling between Malmö and Copenhagen by either car or express train. From Malmö, then continue to your destination in Österlen by local trains and buses.

With SJ you travel by train to Malmö or Lund and then further on to Österlen by car or Skånetrafiken.

Ferries

There are ferry links to Denmark, Germany and Poland in Ystad, Malmö, Trelleborg and Helsingborg.
